NasirNasir Quraishi and the world-renowned spinal unit from Nottingham are very proud to host BritSpine 2016 in the bustling and cultural city of Nottingham.This year’s BritSpine 2016 meeting and exhibition will be taking place at the Nottingham Conference Centre,

a bespoke conference facility that blends with the traditional buildings around it, which is part of Nottingham Trent University. The central venue has a superb track record and has been chosen specifically to allow BritSpine 2016 to offer the best facilities for the attendees and commercial partners.

In addition to the main paper presentations, there are a number of unique sessions including:

Changing law on medical consent: an essential session featuring an eminent local QC and chaired by Mike Grevitt.
Grandmasters of spine symposium: past spinal masters share their wealth of experience on what they did wrong, their worst case and what they would do differently.
AOSpine tumour session: updates from the Tumour Knowledge Forum and the excellent Peter Varga speaking on reconstructive techniques in spinal tumour resection.
‘Best of the best’ papers session: chaired by Phil Sell and John Dormans (President of the SRS).
The first Scoliosis Research Society Worldwide event at a BritSpine conference. Internationally renowned speakers and experts on topics ranging from ‘Quality of life in adult deformity’ to more complex osteotomy techniques; Keynote lecture from Bob Crawford on British guidelines for dealing with these complex patients.
Spine Care Strategy 2020: important and politically charged discussions chaired by Alistair Stirling.

Once again there will be a pre-meeting Trainees’ Cadaver lab that will be held at the Queens Medical Centre. New for 2016, there is an Interactive Spine Masterclass that will run on the afternoon of 5 April at the Nottingham Conference Centre. This will focus on case-based discussions on ‘Complications in spinal surgery and treatment strategies’.

We welcome you to share these fantastic learning events and networking opportunities at a range of social events. On the Wednesday evening, there will be a welcome reception offering you the chance to meet with exhibitors and faculty/delegates, while enjoying a cocktail or two.

This year’s conference dinner will be a buffet of Asian fusion cuisine; entertainment will be provided by Nottingham band The Spinal Cords and there will be a fantastic closing fireworks display.

The local hosts are the Nottingham organising committee led by Nasir Quraishi and supported by the United Kingdom Spine Societies Board (UKSSB). They look forward to welcoming you to a stimulating, thought-provoking and enjoyable meeting in Nottingham in April 2016.
